Arrival:
The staff at The Toren is amazing! They are extremely friendly and helpful, they assisted with our bags from the taxi to the lobby and then to our room. Front desk staff was kind enough to make reservations for dinner prior to our arrival assuring that since it was Christmas Eve we could still find a table.
The Staff/Service:
The Room:
Our room was HUGE! We really do mean huge, especially for Europe. The room was a romantically dark antique style decor, boasting accented beams in the ceiling and full wall of windows with views of the canal below. Our room was on the top level of the hotel so the views below where amazing.
The Bed:
Our bed was slightly firm yet extremely comfy. The pillows were so soft you could sink your head into them. A major plus for us is that the bed slept cool which is nice when you are two people who like to snuggle up at night.
The Bathroom:
The bathroom was quaint yet comfortable, it featured a tub/shower combo with small pedestal sink and toilet. The nice touch was the pair of plus bath robes hanging on the door.
Room Service:
Although we didn’t order room service, I can say that the staff let us take breakfast from the dining area to our room at no extra charge and was happy to take the plates off our hands at any time. Upon our check in we were greeted with a bottle of champagne, strawberries and an assortment of chocolates. This made our holiday extra special. 🙂
Restaurant:
Since we only had breakfast that is all we can review here but we found that out of all the places we’ve stayed in Europe that The Toren had the best selection and quality we’ve seen. Fresh fruits, breads, eggs, breakfast meats and dairy products lined the buffet area and they even offered fresh Lox with Bagels. The menu for breakfast was pretty much the same throughout our stay yet we felt that we never got board of the food. It was quite good.
Bar/Lounge:
WiFi:
Bottom Line:
Ben: Most Definitely, the staff was great and the room was perfect. This is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. If in Amsterdam again, The Toren is at the top of my list.
Sadey: Yes! This was the only hotel I wanted to stay at when we we’re looking in Amsterdam… and it exceeded my hopes and expectations!
