Classic decor, laid back vibe and a swanky atmosphere engulf this iconic drinking establishment. We visited in the early afternoon and found the bar to busy but not crowded, we were able to sit a the bar and talk with the bartender over a few cocktails.

What To Get:

The Sazerac Bar boasts all the classics on their drink menu if this is your first time in NOLA I suggest you give the Sazerac a try – a rye based cocktail with the Spirit of  New Orleans. I went for a Sazerac and an Old Fashioned, both cocktails although completely different from one another were both done well.

The Staff:

I found the staff to be very friendly and informative on their drink menu. The bartender even took the time to let us sample a few of their top shelf bourbons and ryes before we chose our drinks. It is refreshing to talking with bartenders who are passionate about their craft.

Final Thoughts:

Classic Cocktails, great staff and an even better drinking atmosphere make The Sazerac Bar one of my all time favorite places to throw back a few drinks in The Big Easy. The Roosevelt Hotel also has a great Italian Restaurant called Domenica which offers great pizza and wine. All in all The Roosevelt Hotel has a great imbibing experience that is not to be missed.
